On the cutting edge,
with advanced materials.
We shape advanced materials.
THE STRENGTH OF A MAJOR GROUP
Biesse Advanced Materials is the business division of the Biesse Group - an Industrial Group and a leader in technology for the machining of wood, glass, stone, metal and technological materi- als - that focuses on the machining of advanced materials, com- posites and thermoformed materials. The Group, which was founded in Pesaro in 1969, has been listed in the STAR segment of the Italian Stock Exchange since 2001 and consists of 4 main business divisions covering the group's four brands: Biesse, Intermac, Diamut and HSD. Backed by the strength and experi- ence of a major industrial Group that boasts 4,000 employees globally, the Biesse advanced materials division stands out for Research and Development, a dedicated technical office and the service and commercial presence provided by 39 branch offices. The cutting-edge innovation Biesse is known for derives directly from the high-tech solutions used in its products, as well as from the Group's drive to invest in skilled human capi- tal and the desire to expand and add to the company's range and experience. Biesse has focused its attention on developing cutting edge solutions to meet market demand in the advance materials sector, which is seeing significant growth.
AREAS OF APPLICATION
The continuous research and innovation in advanced plastics has increasingly led to their use in various settings, including applica- tions that were previously reserved to metals.
Technological solutions are particularly indicated for the creation of products for packaging and visual communication (signs, prints, etc.), construction (interior and exterior cladding, sound- proofing, etc.) and industry (filters, seals, etc.); for machining com- plex technical materials used in the aviation, aerospace, automo- tive, naval and construction sectors, and for plastic foam, com- pact plastics, composites and cardboard.
Industrial fields, in fact, range from the automotive sector to industrial subcontracting, to the aviation, nautical and pack- aging sectors, to thermal insulation and soundproofing for the construction, medical, defence, visual communication and transportation sectors. Composite materials are in high demand in sectors where production needs to provide low weight materi- als and elevated mechanical properties. The aerospace, naval and automotive industries rely heavily on composite materials for winged structures, fuselage, carriages, boats, canoes, bodywork, the chassis of Formula 1 vehicles, leaf springs, engine parts and various accessories. Fibreglass can be used for bathtubs and shower floors. Sinks and kitchen work tables are able to imitate
granite or marble by using composite materials.
BIESSE TECHNOLOGY
Always focused on the end user, Biesse solutions are technologi- cally competitive, easy to use, versatile and complete with all the optionals for machining any material currently present on the market. Biesse has created a range of products including panel saws, machining centres, waterjet cutting systems, sanders and thermoformers. High speed electrospindles, high power suction systems, and cutting accessories with tangential oscillat- ing blades provide 360° solutions to every machining need in the advanced materials sector. Ultimate machining precision is the distinct guarantee provided by Biesse machines, which complete the manufacturing process with technology for machining cus- tom-sized sheets, flat machining, 5-axis machining, and waterjet cutting. The range of Selco Plast panel saws includes the Selco Plast SK4, designed for medium and small industries, Selco Plast WN 6, designed and developed for producing average sized batches, and Selco Plast WN 7, which stands out for elevated performance with increasingly short time spans, particularly suit- ed to the needs of medium and large industries.
Materia is a range of versatile, compact 5-axis machining centres
with five models diversified on the basis of the sector of applica- tion and the dimensions of the piece to be processed.
Rover Plast is a range of machining centres for artisans and medium to small industries: a single solution for performing milling and cutting operations on technological materials.
Terma is a new tech solution specifically designed for the ther- moforming of plastic materials through the use of a mould and vacuum. Sheets of varying materials, thicknesses and finishes can be used with Terma, to meet any market need. Finally, Viet Plast is the range of sanders that offers specific solutions for working composite, plastic foam or compact materials.
