CMS PLASTIC TECHNOLOGY LAUNCHES TWO NEW MACHINES
CMS Plastic Technology produces numerically-controlled machining centers, beam saws and thermoforming machines for plastic materials processing, offering technologically advances solutions. The brand originates from the prized syn- ergy between technical-industrial expertise in thermoforming of the historical company Villa, established in 1973, and CMS’ historical experience in milling. Thanks to constant invest- ments in research and innovation, CMS Plastic Technology is recognized as a unique partner for entire processes: from ther- moforming, to trimming, to the realization of models and moulds, ensuring maximum productivity. Just few weeks ago, during 2021 international sales meeting CMS launched two new machines.
In the thermoforming field the new machine launched is
the EIDOS.
What can we say? Style and performance in a new product that re-confirms CMS as the market benchmark for cut sheet vacuum thermoforming. The new EIDOS encompasses sophis- ticated mechanical solutions to guarantee the best perfor- mance and an innovative software, for total product usability that is extremely easy to use. To summarize the benefits of this machine:
• The frame and plug assist movement with 4 electrically cou- pled servo motors (gantry) transmission occurs via fixed toothed columns, eliminating moving mechanical parts that protrude from the machine.
• New part cooling system with mobile drawholes installed on the plug assist structure.
• Rapid format change thanks to fully automatic window plate 12 ITALY EXPORTS ®
• Mould-plate has a servo movement managed via PC with stored speed and positioning information. The patented movement is achieved thanks to two electronically coupled servo motors (gantry), ensuring a quick and exact positioning of the mould.
• Closed cabin to reduce problems of dust and surrounding cli- matic variations, to a minimum.

For the CNC machines range CMS introduced the new Athena, a mobile gantry machining center designed for high speed machining of plastic and composite materials capable of offer- ing exceptional dynamic movement to ensure excellent pro- ductivity. The advanced structural design guarantees the reduction of vibrations generated by machining and an excel- lent finishing quality. The features of this machine can be sum- marized in :
• vast work areas for maximum productivity
• wide configurability in the work areas (single zone or pendu- lum cycle)
• compact design and optimisation of the machine’s compo- nents to guarantee a reduction in re-commissioning times.
• Smart4Cut programming system is dedicated to the opti- mization of the trimming path. Interactive software, a portable keypad with joystick and touch screen provide the operator the ability to easily manage all the CNC functions. Cutting pro- grams canbe created by starting from the 3d model or directly from the sample piece fitted on the machine,automatically eliminating all unnecessary movements and reducing the cycle time to a minimum.
Smart4Cut is a new program launched just few weeks ago.
